We’re looking at the week beginning 19 November. We start the week with the Moon approaching the Scorpio New Moon on the 20th. It’s time to release those things you no longer need and to prepare to launch new projects with a new lunar cycle.
(On a personal note: I apologize for having missed the past two weekly updates. My partner, John, and I traveled to see family two weeks ago. Last week John exhibited his work at a nearby art show. Do check out shots of his work on our personal blog (http://www.tomsidebottom.com), or on his professional website (http://www.johnsawdust.com).)
Theme transits this week: There are several planetary configurations that last most all week. We continue to experience the Jupiter / Saturn square for a week or two more, however. The Jupiter/Saturn cycle has strong business and societal implications: we’re coming down to earth from being overly inflated. Jupiter/Saturn asks us to re-evaluate our relationship to our material possessions and our overall expectations about the world. It’s gaining a philosophy of life from experience. Experience may not be glamorous or exciting, but it’s vital to stay grounded.
Mercury trines Uranus all week. Mercury is now direct but moving slowly, so we’ll feel the inspiration that Uranus provides to our mental activities all week. This is the light of genius, but it’s softer and easier to handle than a hard aspect between Mercury and Uranus. Expect novel thinking, and stretch your own limiting notions about the world. Write a blog or a journal, and get behind what’s been happening. It’s time to open to new approaches.
Sun square Uranus beginning mid-week. This is the harder side of Uranus, the cosmic magician/roller-coaster. Expect the unexpected: sudden shifts in physical energy (both higher and lower energy than normal), sudden new demands, and a fair dose of inspiration. Unlike the Mercury contact this one can be physically taxing, It’s really prudent to avoid pitching yourself over the side of the roller coaster, so avoid accidents and carelessness. I strongly recommend rhythmic movement: yoga, taijiquan, moving meditation. Avoid excessive chemical stimulants: I’d forgo Starbucks this week.
Mars squares Saturn and Neptune all week. The contact is rather wide, which means it’s not likely to be too difficult. Mars is the cosmic engine; Saturn the cosmic brake; Neptune the cosmic fog. Combine all three and you’ll see that some stagnant energy could be in for a stay. With the Sun/Uranus going as well I’d guess we’re in for some mixed messages energy-wise all week. Expect physical energy to be a bit lower than normal, so anticipate Uranus’s crazy demands and add your own time outs to avoid excessive strain. Good nutrition and plenty of rest are absolute essentials.
On the 19th we start the week with the Moon in Scorpio approaches the New Moon tomorrow. Release those things you no longer need.
20 Nov: Today’s the Scorpio New Moon: a time of inward seeking and understanding. That’s what’s so crazy about this time of year: cosmically we’re called inward, but our holidaze work against us. Plan for introspection if you can around the clutter of the time. The extreme accent on Scorpio (five planets!) makes me underscore that last advice.
21 Nov: The Moon clears the planetary traffic jam in Scorpio as it passes Venus in Sagittarius. Open emotionally a bit today.
22 Nov: The Moon conjoins Pluto today. There’s the possibility for emotional control issues and obsessive behavior to surface - keep your perspective.
23 Nov: The Moon out of contact with other planets today. Expect a bit of a breather - just in time for Thanksgiving.
24 Nov: The Moon sextiles Mercury and Mars today, opening communication channels for feelings with others. Don’t forget the warmer side of feelings, and let those around you know how you feel.
25 Nov: The Moon sextiles the Sun and Jupiter today, continuing yesterday’s good feeling fest. Take that breather you’ve been needing, and ignore the holidaze just long enough to realize all the gifts you’ve received. Then give something back to the Universe - and don’t forget to play!
