CosmicExpress, week of 25 June - 1 July 2006

I have a weekly astrological podcast, CosmicExpress, where I discuss the overall astrological influences we're experiencing for the following week. As an experiment I've posted below a transcript of my podcast. Let me know what you think!

We’re looking at the week beginning 25 June. The Moon is New in Cancer. Hopefully you finished up old work last week as the Moon waned. Now’s the time to launch into new projects with the beginning of the lunar cycle in Cancer. Cancer symbolizes nurturing, caring, and growth. Now’s the time to let new work blossom and to nurture it over the next two weeks.  

Theme transits this week: There is one planetary configuration that lasts all week, and we’ve seen it for several weeks: Jupiter in Scorpio square Saturn in Leo conjunct Mars. It’s part of the very important Jupiter/Saturn cycle. This cycle has strong business and societal implications: we’re coming down to earth from being overly inflated. Jupiter/Saturn asks us to re-evaluate our relationship to our material possessions and our overall expectations about the world. It’s gaining a philosophy of life from experience. Experience may not be glamorous or exciting, but it’s vital to stay grounded. Mars conjuncts Saturn in Leo. The Mars / Saturn conjunction can be troublesome for everyone: it’s like driving with your brakes on. We all want to make progress but the overall system isn’t budging. Just remember it’s not you: no one is getting traction right now. Now’s the time to take a breather, refocus on what’s important and let everything else slide.

On the 25th we start the week with the new Moon in Cancer. We launched into Summer last week as the Sun entered Cancer. The New Moon in Cancer puts the accent on emotional energy. Now’s the time to nurture yourself, your relationships, and your work. It’s an emotional way to relate to life; we’ve left the intensely analytical and communicative energy of Gemini. Now with Summer in full swing we’ll all feel the accent on emotional nurturing.

The Sun and Moon trine Jupiter in Scorpio - this Sun/Jupiter aspect becomes more important as the week goes on. This is expansive emotional energy. It’s profoundly nurturing and emotionally supportive. Open to this energy in your relationships with others. Don’t analyze; let emotions blossom.

Mercury in Cancer sextiles Venus in early Gemini. Mercury is thought and communication. In Cancer it relates to others emotionally and the Venus contact lets relationships grow.

26 June: Mars continues to move away from Saturn, which eases the feeling of driving with our brakes on. It’s moving into an opposition with Neptune, though, which means that we may not know how we want to channel our energies. It’s optimal right now to explore meditative and inner work; it’s not so great to push to get work done in the physical world. Take a breather for a few days if you can. Clean up your diet; embrace exercise and meditation.
The Moon trines Jupiter and Uranus today forming a Grand Trine in Water. This accents the emotions very strongly and opens us to some novel emotional experiences. Uranus is the unusual - so embrace it and explore new aspects of your feeling nature.

27 June: The Moon moves into Leo today and is still conjunct Mercury in Cancer. The accent is on emotional communication, but the emotional intensity we’ve felt for the past two days wanes and a stronger, more assertive emotional nature emerges.

28 June: The Moon gets mixed up with Saturn and Mars in Leo today and pulls Neptune into the mix. It’s likely to feel like an emotional roller-coaster as Saturn wants us to define our feelings, Mars wants us to act them out, and Neptune wants us to move toward spiritual experience. Best bet: wait it out today. Don’t get pulled into emotionally charged situations and don’t give in to feelings of depression. Miscommunication and unclarity can add trouble to the mix. Don't panic: remember that it’ll fade tomorrow, so keep your perspective.

29 June: The Moon escapes the Mars/Saturn battle today, but we continue to feel the contact with Neptune. If you feel residual unclarity from yesterday’s encounters, they’re likely illusory. Don’t get hung up with emotional baggage right now. Miscommunication may continue to plague us. The best use for this contact is inner work and meditation - and maintain excellent diet and adequate rest.

30 June: The Moon in early Virgo picks up a square to Venus in Gemini. The Neptune fogginess should abate today, and we may want to push back into relationships. The square warns us not to push others too hard, but today is a welcome relief after the emotional scuffles of the past two days.

The Sun moves into a Grand Trine in Water with Jupiter and Uranus today and this contact lasts through week’s end. The Moon will move to oppose Uranus today forming a powerful Kite pattern. The accent is on creativity and nurturing new work. Open to new work today. The accent is on nurturing, not on planning and analysis. Let your feeling guide you!

1 July:  Yesterday’s Kite intensifies and the week should end on an up note. Let your feeling guide your work.
