We’re looking at the week beginning 6 January 2008. The Moon is New on the 7th. Focus on releasing what you no longer need as the week begins. After the New Moon, formulate your plans for the next lunar cycle and get going!
Theme transits this week: The Jupiter / Mars / Pluto configuration that we’ve felt for the past two weeks continues all week but in a weaker state than before. Jupiter is expansion, and Pluto is intensity. This configuration can promote strong business activity and breakthroughs. Now’s the time to push on dormant business projects, especially if they have appeal to mass audiences. The major risk is in obsessive behavior, in power struggles, and in argument. Maintain your perspective and avoid conflict. Saturn continues to trine Jupiter and Pluto. This is very positive for business dealings and planning because Saturn adds stability, strategic planning, and clear-headedness to the mix.
Venus receives squares both from Saturn and from Uranus for most of the week. Saturn and Uranus in combination is crazy-making, because Saturn wants stability, definition, and rigidity, while Uranus wants the new, the unconventional, and to break out of structure. Just like last week it’s time to assay relationships to learn what’s important to you and to your partner. The problem is putting much pressure on the relationship, because tensions may cause conflict and loss of trust. Back off just a bit; relax and remember that this clears by next week.
The week’s net: It continues to be a great time for external work, especially in business dealings. Set your sights high. This is the last week for the sustained energy we’ve been feeling, so make the most of these energies now. Be cautious in working with in relationship issues right now because of the risk of conflict; if you’re feeling excessive tension, remember that this relationship energy diminishes by week’s end.
On the 6th we start the week approaching the New Moon with the Moon conjoining Jupiter and Mars, and opposing Pluto. This is an incredibly powerful moment, filled with breakthrough energy and dynamism. It may create emotional strain. The potential in business and in life planning, though, is marvelous. Take just a bit of time to focus on your upcoming goals for the year so that your energies are flowing coherently with your aims.
7 Jan: The Moon is New today. We’ll still feel the rush of power from yesterday’s configuration, and we pick up a sextile to Uranus to help add novelty to the mix. moves to form the Third Quarter today. Now’s the time to launch into your new projects for this upcoming lunar cycle.
8 Jan: The Moon continues to sextile Uranus today, and we’ll still feel the rush of energy from the New Moon. Get moving on your work!
9 Jan: The Moon conjoins Mercury today, which should promote enhanced communication about emotional issues.
10 Jan: The Moon conjoins Neptune today. We start to prefer illusions and fantasy to reality - which can strain real relationships, especially with the underlying relationship issues that the Venus transits this week create. Watch for communications issues.
11 Jan: The Moon sextiles Jupiter and Pluto and trines Mars today. This reverses the emotional issues we felt yesterday and expands our work with a dynamic push.
12 Jan: The Moon closes the week conjoining Uranus, opposing Saturn, and squaring Venus. This is a highly problematic contact emotionally, and it highlights our week-long problems with Venus and relationship. Uranus wants emotional excitement and change, and can foster nervous tension and uncomfortable emotional settings. Saturn wants definition, stability, and conservatism in dealings with others. Prepare for this push-pull, and keep your perspective this weekend.

We’re looking at the week beginning 13 January 2008. The Moon forms the First Quarter on the 15th. It’s time to push forward on new projects for this lunar cycle: we plant the seed before the First Quarter. At the First Quarter, evaluate your progress and make mid-course corrections - and press on to a successful outcome!
Theme transits this week: The Mars / Pluto configuration that we’ve felt for the past two weeks continues all week. We’ve lost the expansive Jupiter energy that we had in prior weeks. Mars is physical energy, and Pluto is intensity and obsession. This can be a very productive time. There’s lots of physical energy and drive to succeed. The major risk is in obsessive behavior, in power struggles, and in argument. Maintain your perspective and avoid conflict.
Venus moves from its square to Saturn this week. That lifts the feeling of negativity that’s been circling our relationships. Venus continues to square Uranus for most of the week. Uranus wants the new, the unconventional, and to break out of structure. There’s still the push to go beyond our normal bounds in relationships, and a desire to experience the new. This can be profoundly beneficial in artistic work, but it can strain physical relationships that depend on a greater degree of stability and constancy. Toward the week’s end, Venus conjoins Pluto and opposes Mars. Venus and Pluto is obsessive contact in relationships, while Venus / Mars represents pure physical passion. The combination is like dynamite: possibly very passionate and lustful, but with a kicker of control issues. If you’re an artist, push like crazy on your work: it’s an incredibly creative time.
The week’s net: The issue this week centers around proper use of power and control. It’s a fantastic time to get lots of work done, particularly if there are barriers to push through. The issue is in relationships: avoid power plays and struggles for control.
On the 13th we start the week with the Moon forming a T-Square with Mars and Pluto. This is a very powerful moment but all the emotional control issues we explored in this week’s theme come to the fore. Keep your perspective, and let the supportive sextile between the Sun and Moon take some of the edge off.
14 Jan: The Moon squares Jupiter and sextiles Mercury today, which brings a range of expansive, supportive emotions in play. It’s a great time to communicate about emotional, relationship issues - particularly important because there are greater stressors as the week goes on.
15 Jan: The Moon forms the First Quarter today. Evaluate your progress and keep moving. There’s a network of supportive aspects today between Mars, Pluto, the Moon, and Neptune. If you have the chance, take a break for inner work and to renew your connection to source energy.
16 Jan: The Moon squares Mercury today, which should promote enhanced communication about emotional issues. The Moon forms a Grand Trine with Jupiter and Saturn: an excellent combination for success in work and practical issues.
17 Jan: The Moon squares Neptune today. We start to prefer illusions and fantasy to reality - which can strain real relationships, especially with the underlying relationship issues that the Venus transits this week create. Watch for communications issues. Fortunately we have a trine from the Sun to the Moon, which opens the heart for real contact with others.
18 Jan: The Moon squares Saturn today, flipping the support we felt yesterday into a colder, less expressive mode. Keep your perspective and avoid getting into a downer mood.
19 Jan: The Moon closes the week in a powerhouse contact: the Moon conjoins Mars, opposes Venus and Pluto and squares Uranus. This is a highly problematic contact emotionally, and it highlights our week-long problems with Venus and relationship. Uranus wants emotional excitement and change, and can foster nervous tension and uncomfortable emotional settings. Mars wants physical passion - and Pluto wants it obsessively. It’s very important to watch out for control issues in relationship today. Prepare for this dynamic, and keep your perspective this weekend. It’s fantastic for artistic and creative work, by the way!

We’re looking at the week beginning 20 January 2008. The Moon is Full on the 22nd. Up to that point, focus on making the maximum advance on your goals for the month. After the Moon is Full, switch to harvest the results of your hard work.
Theme transits this week: The Mars / Pluto configuration that we’ve felt for the past several weeks continues all week. Mars is physical energy, and Pluto is intensity and obsession. This can be a very productive time. There’s lots of physical energy and drive to succeed. The major risk is in obsessive behavior, in power struggles, and in argument. Maintain your perspective and avoid conflict.
Venus continues to conjoin Pluto and oppose Mars all this week. Venus and Pluto represent obsessive contact in relationships, while Venus / Mars represents pure physical passion. The combination is like dynamite: possibly very passionate and lustful, but with a kicker of control issues. If you’re an artist, push like crazy on your work: it’s an incredibly creative time.
Mercury conjoins Neptune all this week. This is a highly inspirational aspect that has one real problem: it fouls up communication about real-world things. This isn’t the ideal time to conduct business communications. Everyone tends to project hopes and fantasies in place of clear statements; avoid signing contracts if at all possible. On the other hand, Mercury and Neptune creates the atmosphere for real inner insight to emerge. Take time for inner work and contemplation. As the week progresses Mars makes a trine to Mercury and Neptune; this promotes external work and productive achievement later in the week.
The week’s net: The issue this week centers around proper use of power and control. It’s a fantastic time to get lots of work done, particularly if there are barriers to push through. The issue is in relationships: avoid power plays and struggles for control in the face of real passionate physical energy. Watch communication problems in business.
On the 20th we start the week with the Moon still opposing Venus, Jupiter, and Pluto. This is a very powerful moment but all the emotional control issues we explored in this week’s theme come to the fore. It can be a very strongly sensual time.
21 Jan: The Moon trines Uranus today, promoting positive emotional experiences with those you love. Explore the new!
22 Jan: The Moon is Full today. Begin to shift from advancing your work to harvesting the results of your efforts.
23 Jan: The Moon opposes Mercury and Neptune today, which enhances the communication issues that we discussed in this week’s theme. We start to prefer illusions and fantasy to reality - which can strain real relationships. Watch business communication, and plan to spend time doing inner work.
24 Jan: The Moon conjoins Saturn today, switching yesterday’s easygoing feelings for the cold shock of reality. Keep your perspective and avoid getting into a downer mood. We feel trines from Jupiter, Venus, and Pluto, however, which can turn cold emotional analysis into a positive force for relationship change. This is probably the best time for business communications this week.
25 Jan: The Moon opposes Uranus today. This is flips yesterday’s energy on its head. Emotions now want to break through boundaries. Novelty is the key to keeping Uranus happy. Sometimes that results in petty fights just to promote a sense of fresh feelings. Enjoy the flight and avoid getting too wild!
26 Jan: The Moon closes the week in a powerhouse contact: the Moon forms a T-Square with Mars, Venus, and Pluto. This is a highly energetic emotionally. Venus wants social connection or artistic work. Mars wants physical passion - and Pluto wants it obsessively. It’s very important to watch out for control issues in relationship today. Prepare for this dynamic, and keep your perspective this weekend. It’s fantastic for artistic and creative work, by the way!

We’re looking at the week beginning 27 January 2008. The Moon forms the Third Quarter on the 29th. Up to that point, continue to harvest the work you've been doing. After the Third Quarter, shift your emphasis to release those things you no longer need for the next lunar cycle.
Theme transits this week: The Mars / Pluto configuration that we’ve felt for the past several weeks ends as this week begins. Venus has separated from Mars and Pluto. This signals a return to less obsessive, less intense energy, especially around relationships.
Mercury is also separating from its conjunction to Neptune all this week. We should begin to feel greater clarity in real-world communications - with one major exception. Mercury is now retrograde for the next several weeks. Mercury retrograde is an excellent time to go back to complete old projects, to revisit decisions, and to work on less publicly visible things. It’s not a great time to launch into new work that demands intense mental effort or significant communication with others. Maintain care in negotiations and business communications during this time.
Mercury and Neptune receive a very welcome trine from Mars. This provides a bit more physical energy than usual for mental work. On balance, I think this Mercury retrograde period should be beneficial, especially if work focuses primarily on finishing old projects, or on reworking previous ideas into a new form.
The week’s net: This should be a welcome respite from the energetic tossings and turnings we’ve felt for the last month or so. Take a breather. Don’t push yourself on new work; rather, retrench, resolve existing issues, and re-examine where you’re going in the new year. So often it’s not more work that we need to do, but better, more focused work.
On the 27th we start the week with the Moon squaring the last of the Venus, Jupiter, and Pluto configuration. This is a very powerful moment but all the emotional control issues we explored in this week’s theme come to the fore. It can be a very strongly sensual time. The energy is now fading, and we can look forward to less stress as the week unfolds.
28 Jan: The Moon forms a Grand Trine with Mercury, Neptune, and Mars today. This is a strongly beneficial time, emphasizing smooth working relations and good emotional ties at work. Spend some time with those you’re close to.
29 Jan: The Moon forms the Third Quarter today. Continue to harvest your work and begin to release those things you no longer need. The Moon picks up strongly beneficial contacts from Pluto and Saturn: these serve to deepen and to stabilize relationships.
30 Jan: The Moon squares Mercury and Neptune today, which can plague communication. We prefer illusions and fantasy to reality - which can strain real relationships. Watch business communication, and plan to spend time doing inner work. The Moon receives support from Jupiter and Uranus, so communication problems should resolve with some careful attention.
31 Jan: The Moon continues to square Mercury and Neptune, bringing yesterday’s communications issues forward for another day. Maintain your perspective and be cautious in negotiations, as miscommunication can be a problem.
1 Feb: The Moon squares Saturn and sextiles the Sun today. Moon and Saturn make uncomfortable bed-fellows: Saturn wants us to define our emotions. It constrains feelings and promotes depression. Keep your perspective, and use the Sun’s energy to revitalize your feelings through physical activity.
2 Feb: The Moon closes the week in a powerhouse contact: the Moon forms a T-Square with Mars and Uranus. This is highly energetic and unpredictable emotionally. The best way to use the energy is to embrace the new. Actively seek new experiences and stretch your feelings. Be cautious because argument can arise. Emotions tend to shift suddenly with this contact. Stay prepared for partners to exhibit mood swings - and you may feel yourself shifting.
